My article “Construire le lien dans la fracture : une lecture postmigratoire du Second Disciple (2019) de Kenan Görgün” [Building Connection Through Fracture: A Postmigratory Reading of Le Second Disciple (2019) by Kenan Görgün] is published in Textyles: Revue des lettres belges de langue française.
The essay reads Görgün’s novel through the lens of postmigration, asking how fiction can rethink belonging, exclusion, and collective memory in a plural Belgian society marked by the aftermath of terrorist violence. Focusing on the novel’s narrative strategies and counter-stories, I argue that Le Second Disciple challenges fixed ideas of national identity and opens onto fragile but necessary forms of solidarity.
The article is part of a significant thematic issue of Textyles devoted to migration and postmigration in Belgian francophone literature, helping to foreground these questions within contemporary Belgian literary studies.
