I am delighted to have received the 2025 Lawrence R. Schehr Memorial Award from Contemporary French Civilization for my essay, “Représenter une France postmigratoire dans la bande dessinée contemporaine.”
The essay examines how French comics represent postmigration not only through narrative, but through the formal possibilities of the medium—from speech balloons and lettering to panel composition and the circulation of gazes.
An expanded version of the essay has been invited for consideration in Contemporary French Civilization, following further peer review.
